UB Report: Pheromosa Shiny

Pheromosa is a large, bipedal, extradimensional, analog to Bug type Pokémon, hailing from one of the many dimensions accessible through an Ultra Wormhole. Pheromosa is native to a dimension referred to in reports as the "Ultra Desert" where it is believed to serve the role of predator. However, no other lifeforms within this habitat have been observed as Pheromosa swiftly move in to attack any deployed probes, as the Wormhole seems to open up directly into one of their nesting grounds.

Pheromosa’s eyesight resembles the compound eyes of bug Pokémon from our own dimension, however it would seem to be far more advanced, the shades of blue and violet shifting to focus as a human iris would, giving it advanced eyesight allowing it to actively hunt at the high speeds which it moves, with a detailed picture of its environment, rather than the pixel-like view a common bug type possesses. Evolving differently from our own world it’s long legs and arms are far stronger than anything analogous to it, the chitin is flexible to an extent but strong enough to not split when strained. The Muscle fibers supporting every limb of its body also seem to be built more effectively than that of our own Pokémon. It’s most evident when viewing a Pheromosa’s speed, it is fully capable of reaching speeds in excess of 100mph (160.934) which it can accelerate too quickly due to it's light weight and powerful legs. Pheromosa is out-sped only by the flight speed of a Ninjask, and the speed of the extraterrestrial Pokémon Deoxys in its speed enhanced form, which has an estimated speed exceeding 180mph (289.682).

Interestingly Pheromosa which have found themselves set loose on the island nation of Alola, seem to be constantly cleaning themselves, a habit which the probes have shown Pheromosa in their home habitat do not perform nearly as frequently. Due to their pigmentation it may be to attempt to instinctually blend in with the white sands of their world which are not present in Alola, however, this theory has not been tested in other sandy environments. A theory persists that Peromosa feel unclean in our unfamiliar world, and are compelled to clean themselves constantly, however no evidence to this exists as of yet.

In support to the theory that Pheromosa serves as a predator in its own environment are recordings and observational footage of the lifeform hunting in Alola’s Verdant Cavern on the Island of Melemele. Hunting small prey for sustenance using it’s long arms and blinding speed, it has captured Rattata, Yungoos and even local Diglett, with no ill effects seeming to take place due to the difference in environment and food sources. Footage shows that it attacks with powerful, swift kicks with its digitigrade legs, performing jab kicks and sweeps while supporting itself with its equally long arms. The arms of the creature are usually tucked in close to the body while running and fighting larger opponents, as they seem to be aware that they are easy to grapple and injure, lacking the swiftness of their legs. On the topic of their legs, the forces generated from one of their kicks has been noted breaking the armored carapace of a trainer’s Aggron in single kick, and toppling the sturdy Pokémon over.

Pheromosa has been given the ID “UB-02 Beauty”, and given the classification of the “Lissome Pokémon” due to its lustrous white body, piercing blue eyes, and the grace and fluidity which it moves. Using its 25’ jump to leap across the bleached white rock desert which it calls home, it has become more than deserving of the title, having gained the attention and fame amongst young trainers which long to add such an amazing creature to their Pokémon team.

A strange coloration has been reported however remains unconfirmed, reports paint the “Shiny Pheromosa” as white with a black lower body which fades as the higher up the abdomen it travels, the golden coloration within the joints and ligaments also appears as a silver tone. This mutation would fit in with other such discolorations found in our world’s Pokémon, shining light on the fact that our universes may yet share more similarities.
